about
This composition was created by using samples of wind recorded during Hurricane Irene while in Wellfleet, MA during the summer of 2011. The raw file of wind was then cut up into various lengths and placed into Ableton, using Cs4Live samplers. I then automated the speed of the sample, grain size and rate to create an effect where the wind is evolving into a new object. On top of that that, I used an Ableton resonator and multi waveshaper to create various layered textures to emphasis this sense of mutation. Ultimately I am trying to translate sonically the process of a mineral forming into a rock by using the actual element that shepherds this process, wind.
