about
This composition was conceived entirely in Max/MSP using 36 integers from the Fibonacci sequence as a metronomic tool. I created 2 sets of 36 interlaced metronomes with one set ascending through the sequence and the other descending. From there the 2 larger sets were broken down further into 14 independent Absynth instruments that could be controlled by specific message, button, and urn objects. The sounds in this piece were chosen based on their possible relation to oceanic sounds that could potentially be heard realistically or as paracusia while stranded in the open ocean. In essence, this piece to me represents a granular ocean we all wade through and collectively can be lost in the textures of the waves at the same time.
